Project Manager – Support.

A highly customer focussed role requiring a strong individual who can follow and adhere to detailed process flow. The Support Project Manager will be required to manage multiple projects at the request of the client and deliver all projects within the required timescales and within budget.

Location: London

Excellent management skills and a good technical knowledge of data centre cabling infrastructure, server migration, BAU activity and mechanical and electrical requirements is essential.

The position demands excellent administration skills, the ability to represent ExcelRedstone in project and client meetings and there is a requirement, to lead any project team required to complete the works, which may include sub-contractors.

The position is based on a 5 day week with the occasional need to work weekends. Our clients are predominantly based in central London however have data centres regionally over the UK and in Europe and therefore it is expected for the Support Project Manager to carry out a significant amount of travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, plan and deliver infrastructure cabling projects/migration projects/BAU projects.
  • Manage new cabling infrastructure throughout the client’s data centres. Works are currently executed by ExcelRedstone and the PM is required to provide quote requests, issue job packs, raise orders, delivery to required timescales through to acceptance of works.
  • Manage installation of additional ad-hoc data centre cabinets.
  • Manage and administer the installation of Networking Hardware including Asset Management.
  • Carry out all works under current Health & Safety procedures conforming to ExcelRedstone and the clients H&S Policies.
  • Ensure all works comply with ExcelRedstone, Client and Manufacturers quality standards.
  • Conform to ExcelRedstone Support / Managed Services processes at all times.
  • Close interaction with the client regarding migration projects requiring patching resource.
  • Attend technology project meetings as required.
  • Interface with the Network group for new installs/upgrades.
  • Interface with other technology teams as required.
  • Review & verify cabling installation test results.
  • Updating of cabling frame layouts.
  • Maintain client cabling database.
  • Assist with Cabinet space allocation as required.
  • Develop knowledge of the campus infrastructure, installations and methods and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Provide a weekly log of activities and associated hours.
  • Provide holiday cover as required.
  • Interface with client engineering department.
  • Provide input to monthly report.
