Vacancy – Senior Commissioning Engineer – Physical Security.

The Role of a Physical Security Commissioning Engineer is to install, commission and service the CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems that are aligned to the ExcelRedstone product portfolio.

The role is mobile, to which vehicle or an allowance is provided.

The role will form part of a Physical Security team and will be required to adhere to the following.

Key responsibility areas

  • Work in accordance with the company’s safety, quality and environmental procedures.
  • To take ownership for the efficient, quality driven and specification compliant installations.
  • To take ownership for ensuring the prompt management/resolution of customer technical issues.
  • To highlight to management any client requests that reside outside of current support arrangements.
  • The supervision of internal engineers, trainee’s and contractors on project work.
  • To maintain knowledge of industry standards i.e. NSI, NACOSS.
  • To conduct a professional image in appearance and action at all times.
  • Ensure any allocated training is undertaken in a timely manner.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of personal PPE.
  • Will ensure that customer documentation is produced and issued in a timely and professional manner.
  • Takes responsibility for various special tasks as required including ensuring the Redstone demonstration facilities are operational at all times.
  • To demonstrate and maintain excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and suppliers, partners etc.
  • To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with manufacturer representatives.
  • Will ensure that all allocated projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Takes responsibility to escalate issues in accordance with Redstone escalation procedures.
  • Perform rota support duties.

Skill/attributes required

Essential

  • An understanding of general 1st fix containment systems using a variety of materials.
  • The ability to 2nd fix cables, locks, CCTV Cameras, camera brackets, ACS controllers.
  • Understanding of networking solutions i.e. (IP addressing, subnets and VLANS).
  • Excellent knowledge of setting up, commissioning and fault finding of IP CCTV and ACS systems.
  • Good electrical or electronics background. Wiring of control boards and associated components.
  • Ability to document installations in accordance with the regulations and company procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • A good level of Microsoft Knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • An understanding of databases for use with ACS and other related systems.
  • A knowledge of Integrating physical security systems.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Weekly provision of timesheets and prompt provision of sickness forms.
  • Preferred but not Essential.
  • An understanding of NACOSS and NSI standards.

SUCCESS MEASUREMENTS

  • Projects completed on time, first time with no return visits.
  • Project completed on or below budget (as agreed with management team).
  • Quality of installation (snagging performance/ready for NSI auditing).
  • Quality & completeness of documentation (prompt, accurate and specification compliant).
  • Client satisfaction and understanding (clean handovers)
  • No Health & Safety issues (Able to produce RAMS)
