Vacancy – Data Centre Support Engineer (client side).

ExcelRedstone are recruiting for a Data Centre Support Engineer to be based from our client site in Bournemouth.

Working within a prestigious client data centre. The position is very customer oriented and requires a strong focus on customer requirements. The commitment to providing a high quality service to meet the demands of a strict process driven environment is essential.

The role is required to deliver IMACD Services from small alterations such as patching and fault finding through to large and involved upgrades such as decommissioning and recommissioning servers.

The successful applicant will be part of a team delivering support services on 24x7x365 shift basis and report to the local Service Delivery Manager.

Successful applicants will also be required to pass the clients security clearance vetting process.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Change Control Management.
  • Incident Management and Resolution.
  • Management and Tracking of Assets.
  • Supervising and Escorting 3rd Party Vendors.
  • Installation and Decommission of Network Hardware and Structured Cabling.
  • Compliance with ExcelRedstone and Client Health & safety Procedures.
  • Compliance with Manufacturers, ExcelRedstone and Clients Quality Standards.
  • Compliance to Clients and Support Services approved processes.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience of working in high risk environments and Data Centres.
  • Sound Knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies & Networking Concepts.
  • Competent in MS Office and Helpdesk/Service Delivery Applications

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns.
